The Embodied Awareness Coterie is a 6-month immersive space for seekers, feelers, and dreamers ready to deepen their mindfulness practice with heart, presence, and radical empathy.
Whether you're just beginning to explore mindfulness or you’ve been meditating for years, this small group experience with a consistent circle of members offers something uniquely powerful: community that deepens over time. Unlike drop-in classes, this space allows us to build trust, witness each other’s growth, and co-create a sacred container where connection, vulnerability, and shared wisdom can flourish. You’ll be supported in embodying awareness with kindness, curiosity, and collective care — not just alone, but together.
So, What Exactly Is the Embodied Awareness Coterie?
Mindfulness: Also known as embodied awareness, mindfulness invites us to fully inhabit our bodies and meet each moment with compassionate presence. It’s not just a technique — it’s a way of being. We’ll engage it as a living, breathing practice of noticing, feeling, and honoring what is — from subtle sensations to big emotions — all through a lens that centers justice, tenderness, and curiosity. While its roots lie in Buddhism, we approach mindfulness in a way that’s both culturally respectful and liberated from institutional whiteness and commercial reduction.
Meditation: The formal practice of cultivating mindfulness through focused attention, compassion, and open awareness. In this space, meditation isn’t about fixing yourself — it’s about meeting yourself. Together, we’ll nurture presence, empathy, and resilience that extends far beyond the cushion.
Coterie: A cozy, intentional circle of like-hearted humans (no more than 10) gathering with shared purpose. In this space, we co-create community, support one another’s growth, and honor our full humanity. It’s less of a program, more of a soul pod — intimate, authentic, and rooted in mutual care.
Basically, it’s my lovingly decolonized name for a mindfulness cohort with big heart and deep soul.

Monthly Recorded Meditations
Receive 3 guided practices per month, each one centered on themes like affirmation, compassion, rest, and resilience. Every meditation is accompanied by a short teaching that weaves in liberatory, intersectional perspectives — meeting you where you are, and honoring your full complexity.
Monthly Group Gatherings
Community keeps us grounded. These live sessions include mindfulness practices, group discussion, and space to reflect, share, and be witnessed. You’ll be celebrated, supported, and seen — without pressure to perform or be “good at” meditation.

No prior experience is necessary! The Embodied Awareness Coterie is designed to support both beginners and seasoned meditators. Whether you’re new to mindfulness or looking to deepen your practice, you’ll find a welcoming space to grow.
How much time do I need to commit each week?
You can engage with the Coterie at your own pace. Weekly recorded meditations are available, and the live group session happens once a month. We encourage setting aside at least 30 minutes a few times per week, but how much you participate is up to you.
What are the benefits of the private instruction?
Private instruction allows you to dive deeper into your personal mindfulness journey. In these one-on-one sessions, you’ll work with Brenda to address specific challenges, enhance your practice, and integrate mindfulness into your daily life with personalized guidance.
What if I can’t attend the live sessions?
No worries! All live sessions are recorded and added to our video library, so you can watch them whenever it suits you. This way, you won’t miss out on any important moments, even if your schedule is busy.
How does the accountability group work?
The optional accountability group is hosted on Telegram, where you can connect with fellow members to share progress, ask questions, and offer encouragement. It’s a supportive space to keep you motivated and engaged in your practice. I’ll also be popping in regularly with inspiration.
Can I cancel my participation if it’s not the right fit for me?
